ISB History

The Irving Symphonic Band started in 1988 and became an organization in 1990 under the direction of Robert J. Brule.  Under his direction the band hosted such distiguished guests as David Holsinger, Francis McBeth, Dr. Alfred Green, Captain Lewis J. Buckley and many more.  The band, currently in its 19th season, is under the direction of Jay L. Bach.

Our mission is to provide our citizens with quaility music through our concerts and provide a musical outlet for our members.

ISB Personnel

Our band is comprised of people with diverse musical backgrounds.  Many of our members are full time band directors and musicians.  However, the majority of our members work in professions not related to music but have a desire to continue playing challenging music.  The group includes engineers, teachers, CPAs, IT personnel, an RMT, and marketing specialists, to name a few.  No matter where we work during the day, the same desire to create great music brings us together on Thursday evenings.
